If asked, I would say that filmmaking is my ultimate pursuit, bar none. But if there 's anything that comes close to offering the same thrill as working on a set, it's planning an event.
My introduction to the catering and events industry began as a 16-year-old, bagging popcorn, plating appetizers, and serving at private parties for a local caterer. This was a part-time gig to earn money for a trip to Costa Rica. I didn't know what it would introduce me to. Three years later I was asked to be the Special Projects Intern at my local parks department, planning inclusive and free summer events for our community. These experiences gave me the confidence as a junior in college to once again seek catering and event work when I needed a second job.

I've worked for One World Catering and Woolery Mill events venue (OWC) since Winter of 2017. Here, I have progressed from Server to Bartender, on to Event Lead, Sales Coordinator, and, finally, Event Producer. Through these stages, I've elevated my own planning and communication style. For each event my focuses include: exceeding the client's vision while making practical demands of staff, frequently checking in with staff to verify they understand the subtle details, and asking many, many questions.

My three plus years in this field have provided a medley of weird, wonderful moments, which is primarily why I love it as I do. Each event creates as many memories for me and my staff as it does the guests. Carrying my first wedding cake off to the kitchen after the couple has cut it, all eyes watching as if I held a newborn baby instead of buttercream. Attending dozens of weddings without having to be a bridesmaid or bring a gift. Packing a van to the brim post-event, only to see that I have a six-foot-long grill left to fit in... Yes, I successfully found it a spot.

I share all of this to introduce my history with event planning and my attitude towards my role in it. In the pages that follow you'll see examples of a few events I have coordinated or collaborated on. I chose these specifically because they are the ones I am most proud of.
